Biography
As an educational consultant and coach, she has worked with TK-12 teachers and administrators in multiple school districts to improve their literacy programs. Her dissertation, “The Educational Experiences and Cultural Identity of Second-Generation Lao and Hmong American Men in California’s Central Valley”, and master’s thesis, “Southeast Asian Women in K-12 Educational Leadership Positions” were both qualitative research studies in the educational attainment and barriers faced by the Southeast Asian American population in the Central Valley.
She has presented and shared her work in educational conferences with the community in California, Hawaii, Texas, and Canada. As a former Latin teacher, she knows that equity and access to justice begins with a deep understanding and implementation of literacy.
