Nichole Walsh, ED. D.

Dr. Nichole Walsh comes to the consulting group with 20+ years of experience in the field of education. Dr. Walsh’s experience includes teaching in the elementary and secondary settings with students in Title I schools and high populations of multilingual learners. Her content areas included Multiple Subjects, English Language Arts, Reading Intervention, Social Studies, and English Language Development.

As a district secondary instructional coach teaching, Dr. Walsh trained and supported 7-12 grade teachers across all disciplines in literacy, language, engagement, assessment, and technology. She also worked as both a Middle School Principal and as a High School Curriculum and Instruction VP, where she lead PLCs and unit design work across all content areas. Dr. Walsh also successfully supported the implementation if school-wide MTSS in behavior and academics at the secondary level.

Currently, Dr. Walsh is an Associate Professor for the Department of Educational Leadership with a focus on K-12 educational administration and a core faculty member in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership Graduate Group. She also has been trained through the CSU Chancellor’s Office in online instructional practices and has supported faculty in the transition to distance learning. As the previous Regional Director, Dr. Walsh now serves on the advisory board for the California Reading & Literature Project at Fresno State, and as the Past-President, has also served on the advisory board for the Madera-Fresno Area Reading Council. Her recent research and partnership work includes supporting alternatively permitted teachers, cognitive apprenticeship approach to language and literacy instruction, cultivating effective classroom environments, fostering mindful leadership, and student engagement in virtual settings.
